I installed pokerstars last night and twice my laptop has locked up while in play, had to hard reboot both times, very frustrating !

Has this happened to anyone else, done a search and found nothing.

    Thanks.

Its an inspiron 6400, about 18 months old, windows xp, mcafee av and firewall, no games, only s/w installed of late is pokerstars. never froze on me before i installed it, no limewire or anything running in the backround, no spyware.

partypoker has worked for months without ever locking up the laptop so either something is running in conflict with pokerstars,eg itunes or mcafee is what im thinking ? ?

No harm in trying disabling mcafee. Turn on Windows XP firewall instead.

Switch the Mcafee firewall off and try that. I had a few probs with firewalls and stars

Make sure you have some kind of firewall on at least. Thats why I suggested windows firewall. Lack of a firewall is a far bigger threat than that of a virus.
