Hi Guys. Just reading on another thread about dell ebay and about how not to end up in a bidding war for some machines. So i'm just wondering what would be a good price to pay then for one of the refurbished laptops?, considering your paying around 400-700 upwards for a inspiron 15-17" range on Dell.

You could also take a look at their outlet store.

I have seen some of these Dell refurbished laptops going for silly money after a bidding frenzy. For starters you do not get a choice with these laptops, you cannot modify them i.e. ask for a larger HDD, more ram, higher capacity battery or colour scheme. You basically get what you see at the auction. If you knew something about computers you might be able to spot a bargain that may have slipped through unnoticed.

thanks for the link kjt but it seems there's not that much difference between the outlet store and ebay except there's more in the outlet store. Otherwise the prices seem to be around the same.

Did you ever see the bidding history on these auctions for laptops.
    http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=400000131003
These bidders 1,2,3,4,5 etc always bid on this sellers auctions but never place a bid within 4 to 5 hours of auction end.
