October in Seville / Costa de Luz

Has anyone been to Costa de Luz around October time. I would like to go to Sevilla but the g-friend wants a beach holiday. Thought that Costa de Luz would be ideal to incorporate both. Only problem is that its unlikely that we will take it until the first week in Oct and she will not be happy if there is no sunbathing to be done..

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Cheers

I was in Sevilla last August, would highly recommend it. Really beautiful city and such a laid back atmosphere.

Many of the hotels have outdoor pools so you can have the best of both worlds - we went out sightseeing early and then when it got too hot for walking around in the afternoon, headed back and sat outside at the pool. This might be a way of keeping your girlfriend happy and you getting to sightsee.

It was hitting 40 degrees at the end of August there, almost too hot. I'd guess October would also have sunbathing weather.

The place we stayed was called Hotel Sevilla Center - a little bit of a walk from the main attractions. Some of the more central hotels also had pools..

    Cheers KK.
I have been thinking that the best option might be just to book the flights and then spend a few days in Sevilla and then hopefully a couple of days surfing and maybe hit a vinyard or two.
I'm going to look into the cost of accomodation and car rental and see the options.

Don't know about Costa de la Luz in October. I was there in June a couple of years ago and while it was very hot, it was also extremely windy and unsuitable for sunbathing - you just got blasted by the sand. The beaches are gorgeous and great for swimming - if you don't mind rough sea - it is the Atlantic after all. I'd say October would be too chilly for a sun & sea holiday.

Seville should still be quite warm, and as other people have pointed out, some hotels will have pools so you could do the sunbathing thing there.

We stayed in this hotel (which doesn't have a pool) - it's very close to the centre we liked it - www.hotelalcantara.net .

If you have time check out a bar called La Carboneria. It's a bit hard to find but it's the best late night bar I've ever been in - great live flamenco music and a fantastic atmosphere - don't miss it.

I don't think i'll be able to pass off sunbathing by the hotel pool to my missus. She's a real beach fan. I am really hoping to go to seville though, so I may just take a weekend break there and take the beach holiday elsewhere.
Thanks for the info though. I would rather hear a bad story about the weather and be forewarned than book it and end up not being able to enjoy it.
I actually saw the name of that bar that you mentioned on a website this morning. I will keep a record of it.

    Thanks
