Didnt know where else to post this but here goes

About 5 years ago i did my cruciate ligament as well as damaging cartilage in a football game. I had the knee reconstruction surgery but it never came right even after months of physio (the consensus is that the surgeon did a bad job).

Its only in the last couple of years that i started back playing a bit of indoor soccer and it seemed to be holding out even though i knew it was never right. Then about 3 months ago i damaged the medial ligaments in the same knee and took a break from soccer for about 6 weeks. I came back and again didnt feel right with my knee clicking every now and again which resulted in pain for a few seconds. Then last week i hurt it badly again. I heard a click like usual only this time the pain didnt go away.

The symptoms this time are different to when i did the cruciate (immediate swelling, unable to bend or straighten knee fully, general unstableness of knee) and the medial (unable to put weight on it, unable to bend it). This time i can put full weight on it, can bend it but i can't straigthen it fully and there has been no swelling. The pain is severe when i try to straighten it and i find that by putting a heat pack it relaxes the muscles and gives a bit more freedom to the leg. I can also feel a bit of tenseness in my calf muscle.

I spoke to a friend who knows a thing or two about this and he reckons it could be cartilage damage. I know this isn't too serious so i'm hoping thats what it is! Im just wondering if anyone else has had the same thing happen or has experienced the same symptoms.

    Thanks

    Firstly, completely the wrong forum.

    Secondly, go see a doctor.
