How do go about getting a real .22 airgun rifle ?

    legally

    i live in the countryside and i have a rat problem

    they are always around the hen food

    do i need a licence, what is involved ?

    this is probbaly better suited to the shooting forum but you buy the gun in the gunshop, get a receipt apply for a licence to the guards and they get back to you in 3 weeks to 3 months.

    an AEG is more than capable of dispatching rats by the way, not that i condone it but it does work.

    it most certainly will and i have photographic evidence of that.
    dont know if the mods would approve of my posting it here theough.

    i for one certainly dont approve of the method as i rather dispatch my prey with a single clean hummane shot, where at all possible.

    Just to add to this it is 100% illeagle to shoot ANY animal with an air gun licened or not, some people need to think before they reply and use some cop on. Report the post and leave it for the mods.
