    Hi all.
I'm just back from the show:D.

Just taught we can start a new thread for anyone who wasn't able to make it on the day with any pics and feedback from the show. Thank god the rain stayed away.

Over all if money was no option this was my personal favourite. (BTW I have no affiliation with the owner/club).

Fair play to NEVCC and MERCMAD for organising the meet up for Boardsies in the tea tent. I heard it being anounced over the PA - so i headed along to find a large queue outside. To my shame I didn't go in:(
    Was it a success??

I thought €15 entry fee for classic cars was a bit much, considering without the cars there'd be no show.

Unless it was for a charity, then it was OK. Was it for charity or for the NEVCC coffers?

Yes it was for charity, they are pretty much all for charirty these shows, plus if you send your form back before the cut off date its only €10 !!

Well worth it and a superb show !

Well done to the organisers who had a very tough job dealing with what I expect was 50% more Classic cars than they had last time !!

    Ohh...............and I won a prize too !! :D

    Hi all
Thanks for all your support and your right without the enthusiasts there would be no show.
There are 10 different charities that we support with this show. And with the success we had yesterday we hopefully will be able to increase that.
The €15 only pays for the finisher’s award/ tea and the 20 individual trophies. Only the Joe public actually makes money. We had considered not charging the exhibiters and then give nothing out at all, however it was felt the our show over the last 26 years has built up a reputation for having some sort of a thank you for bringing out your cars.
Unfortunately we are very heavily constrained by health and safety and we were forced to close the show at 12:30 1:00ish to exhibiters due to the volume of Joe public moving around in the field, so for those that had to park in the car park I can only offer our apologies and hope it doesn’t put you off from coming back next year.
Once again thanks for all who made the show the success that I think it was.
    Éamonn

Well unless there was another gathering we didn't know of - I think it was just NEVCC, MercMad and myself!

Great show! I nipped home about 4pm to go to a BBQ - how was the traffic after that?

Have some pics but won't get a chance till tomorrow to post 'em.

Unfortunately a show of that size be it a car show or the bloom in the park last week you are going to run into traffic problems. I work in the park and was stuck for over 2 hour getting out. But that’s what you have to deal with. I think over all it wasn’t that bad considering the estimated figure was 6,000 people. There is a committee meeting later this week and I’ll let you know all the facts and figures.

I stayed and disassembled the Club stand and drovbe straight out and away at 6.00.

    No traffic/delays ! :D

I never leave early, you only end up sitting in a queue. I was disappointed to see a huge bunch of folk leaving at 3.00 !!

I wouldn't mind hearing the organisers opinion of the large stall selling Nazi memorabilia?
Would you not consider this distasteful at a family show?
I know people who are into classics also like old stuff like militaria, but this stall was almost completely devoted to Nazi-ism, and some of the signs etc they had were, in my opinion best left to the BNP and their like.

A big thanks to all the organisers from all at the Opel owners club!

It was a very well organised show IMO and they did a great job at handling the large crowd. The stewards on the day were very helpful and not the usual 'shut up and just park you're car!!' attitude you get at some shows:D We set up our stand near enough the gates and as the morning progressed we got way more Opel's than we had expected and the stand just kept growing! The steward nearest us(Kevin i think was his name?) had a busy job trying to shepard all the cars coming in the gate as well as trying to keep an eye on us cos we had to keep robbing more space!:D He was very good about it though and only had to shout at us once...or twice...cough...lol
Anyway we ended up with more than 25 cars last count on the stand-result!

Here's a link to some of our cars....

Again thanks to all at NEVCC-lookin forward to next year already!

Yeah I agree with 400R, the marshalls had very good attitudes unlike other shows which I wont mention held in Terenure college :D

I also agree that a lot of the military stuff had no place there. I didn't look closely at it, its not my thing, and I didn't see an Nazi stuff, but I really dont think that people with various weapons whould be allowed to display them at a family event. Vehicles are fine but guns etc... NO !

Just blame the darn child who decided to stand there as I was getting ready to take the pic - no, he's not mine !! :)

And of course you're not biased......

    Hi Walter
To be honest I didn’t see the guy selling that kind of stuff but then again I didn’t get to see much of the show. I assume he was a stall holder in the autojumble I’ll take this up at the next meeting. As for the Army stuff I know it’s a bit of an odd one personally I like the stuff and it always draws a crowd.
