I'm playing Corrstown tomorrow and Roganstown on Friday for the first time. Can anyone who is familiar with either of these courses offer any advice as to what to look out for?

    Thanks.

roganstown is nice, in general it plays as you see it. some of the greens are very deep though so really look for pin positions.

Agree with above - Roganstown is pretty much as you see it - not too tricky! Havent played it this year but played it several times last year in the evenings and the greens were playing well even at that late state!

Corrstown is a lovely course too - depends on what set of 9 you are playing - because i believe they have started mixing them up - used to be and 18 and 9 hole course - but i heard you can be sent out on any 9 now! Bit silly cos the "old" 18 was the river course and the 9 was orchard - so mixing and matching wont go well in my opinion!!
The "old" river course is the one i played most - some nice holes - but watch out for all the little creeeks and rivers - lots running along the side and cutting across the fairway or in front of the greens - so sometimes its just best to lay up! The 2nd holes even has a bit of fairway as an island to the left side in front of the green!!

You'll enjoy both courses - hope you play well!!

Probably a bit late now but played Corrstown a couple of weeks ago and agree you need to be careful on a few holes on the river nine with the streams cutting across a few holes. Make sure to check the hole layouts on the card. Definitely need to take care laying up on the par5 2nd because the stream snakes around the fairway making it pretty much an island as mentioned above. Very lucky to be out playing today in that sunshine!!

Thanks for the replies lads. Appreciate it. We've a Jimmy Bruen practice session today in Corrstown. Will make sure my partner and I steer clear of the water and not be too greedy. Teeing off at 4pm. :D
