Type of willow bush? ID?

I see plenty of these along roadside, lane hedgerows.
I've always assumed they are willows of one sort or another.
Can anyone ID it based on the photo of a sprig of leaves.
Note the immature fruit/catkin which appear on the underside
of some leaves. In recent days the bush which bears these
leaves some of the leaves show a nice reddish/brown tinge
near the tips of the leave structure. (salix alba??)

There is another willow plant which is common (but not as
frequent as the one shown here) which has much longer spiky
leaves (the leaves are similar to those on a weeping willow).
I've always assumed that it is crack willow or salix viminalis or
    common osier.
