Could someone explain the difference to me?
My upper teeth cover my lower teeth completely when I bite down, wondering if anything can be done.

Your top teeth in an ideal world should cover your bottom teeth about 2-4mm when you have your back teeth closed together. There is a great amount of variance in this though. If your bottom teeth come all the way up to your palate it can cause some problems in the future with your gums. This type of malocclusion (bad bite) is common in ireland. Usually the best way to correct it if you need to is by orthodontics (braces). Ask your dentist for a referal to an orthodontist who specialised in straightening teeth.

    Good luck

I can't see my lower front teeth, the front four, at all so off to the dentist it is. My lower teeth touch the bases of my upper teeth and are grinding against them so I can see this being something I need to get sorted.

    Cheers!
