    Hiya all.

I am travelling to Philly later in the year and got a good price from USairways direct from Dublin.

Has anyone used them on this route?

I have looked them up in skytrax and some of the stories are horrific !

Does anyone know do they have personal IFE, whats the reliability like, are they even pleasant to fly with.

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I've taken US Airways to Philly a good few times as my company's US office is there...

There is no personal IFE. The plane that they use is a Boeing 757, so it is set up as two rows of 3 seats with 1 aisle, which on a flight of 6 to 7 hours can be a right pain as if they are serving food/using trolleys.

Overall, I found them friendly enough to be honest. The size/layout of the plane would be the major pain for me I have to admit... Other than that, they are not the worst out there.. and philly is a nice city to explore!

I have done this route twice (and then got a connection to Orlando) I can honestly say I could find no fault with the service. It does feel a bit 'budget' but then I have always found it a good deal cheaper than the competitor, so that doesn't bother me. Choice of movie, food and comfort are all good and in all the flights/connections I have taken with them, I have never been delayed as much as 15 mins.

I would go with it, don't worry about bad stories, if you delve enough in to anything, you can always find a few bad reviews! Enjoy!

As ncmc says it really does have a budget feel about it.

I have flown it twice and the staff were very friendly.

However if there was not much a difference in the price I would go with Delta to Newark, not very far from Philly

Its put my mind to rest on this. I am going to Trenton, NJ so Continental was our first choice, but was more expensive.

Aer Lingus is out as they only do JFK and Trenton is midway between Newark and Philly.

P.S. Delta doesnt fly direct to Newark. Continenal does.

    Thanks again everyone

Philly is about 20 to 30 miles closer to Trenton than Newark is, so you are saving time and money by flying to Philly :p

If you aren't renting a car, I would recommend getting the train to Trenton from 30th Street Station in Philly.

$30 in a taxi from Philly Airport, then about a half hour train journey from Philly to Trenton. You could get there for about $25 with amtrak as far as I know..

If you actually fly into Newark you could get on the same train line, but just coming from the other direction.
