Nerves & Spectators

Had originally planned to have two problems combined into one but someone has saved me the hassle of posting one...

So now, on to my other problem :) I really dislike being spectated - even at things that I am semi-confident at (which is a push a lot of the time - not exactly brimming with confidence!)...For example, in work today my process was being watched for an audit - made me really nervous (hands a little shaky even!) even though I have done the process so many times and feel good at it!

I also get really embarressed if I make a mistake under these circumstances and feel really hot (like people do when they blush but I don't think I change colour) - This may be one reason why I haven't learned to drive yet (21). I will be watched and will naturally make mistakes but still feel awkward...However, I am hoping to learn to drive soon :S

Even in college, I am terrified of giving answers (in a shout-out situation rather than when asked) - throbbing neck and everything...Even when I am full-sure of the answer.

It's an odd problem but it has really been bothering me of late which is the only reason I am posting...Not even sure if there are any potential responses that could be helpful but nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that.

OP you sound a lot like me and I have Social Anxiety. Perhaps you do too, or perhaps not but I recommend you spend some time on google and youtube finding out about it and then vist your GP to remedy the problem if you believe you have it.

I'm only starting the recovery process now but pm me if you need some help on suggested readings and moral support.

    Best of luck :)

A lot of people get nervous when they're being watched even if it's something they do flawlessly alone, it's very common. I know it's easy for me to say, but everyone makes mistakes and whether or not you're being watched or not you just have to deal with them, no need to get caught up in it or make it seem worse than it actually is.
And as for learning to drive pop over to the learning to drive forum, and throw any questions you have our direction!
