Hi all, iam a newbie here, a friend of mine recently bought a Wii on Ebay from an Irish (Dublin) seller for about 500 euros with about 30 games. That's pretty good value you might think but the Wii and all the games are all in Japanese and no one in that household can read Japanese. My friend did ask the seller before purchase if the console is a Ire/Uk spec machine and he said deffo. But when we tried to contact the seller again the seller account was closed. We try contacting Ebay and PayPal but they're wasn't much help. Now my friend is stuck with a Wii which she can't play. So iam here to ask if someone in here knows how to change the language from Japanese to English in the Wii or if thats possible at all. You're help would very much appreciated. Thanks Rob

After a quick Google it seems that it's not possible to do so. According to this thread on WiiChat.com, Nintendo take the stance that Japanese Wiis are meant for use in Japan, and the language cannot be changed.

Seems like you got duped, unlucky :(
