    Hi,

A friend of mine asked me to look at his mmds setup and an issue he had. Basically he's got multiroom from chorus, but the mmds box in room 2 doesnt come on till the box in room1 is on.
It seems to me that he has only 1 of those power boxes (aerial in and aerial out) which is in room1. so only when that power box is turned on will the mmds box in room 2 come on.
Shouldnt there be a seperate powerbox for the chorus mmds box in room2 aswell ?

there is a single cable coming from the mesh aerial, which goes into a splitter, one cable for room1 and one for room2. Then the cable from room1 goes into the power box and then onto the chorus box. The cable going to room 2 goes straight to the chorus box in room2. Not even sure how its working like that.

    The setup is correct.
You only need one power inserter per aerial.
It sends a DC voltage between 16 and 22v to the aerial to power the downconverter.
Nothing you can do I'm afraid.

thanks, would it not be better then to put the power inserter before the splitter box in the attic, that way its always on ?

Yes,you can put it in the attic before the splitter but it needs to be powered so youd need a plug in the attic.
