flying a dog from uk to ireland help

    Does anyone know of an airline that would fly a dog from manchester to west of ireland .

    Not sure - but I am sure it will be a lot more expenive than taking the ferry!

    Aer Arann take dogs, think charge is about €25. You'd have to check routes though. You can email them from the website and they're very helpful usually reply in about 3-5 days.

    I know RyanAir don't

    You'll likely have to fly into Dublin,try flybe or Bmi.

    Yes, as said above, Aer Arann will accept dogs. They charge €25 per sector. They fly to Sligo and Galway from Manchester so could suit you.

    Yes they do but they don't fly from Manchester.

    2.6 CARRIAGE OF PETS
    Carriage of Pets is only permitted on Ireland domestic and UK flights to and from Ireland. Rates: the pet and container need to be weighed separately from any other baggage you may have. Please see Aer Arann fees table on www.aerarann.com. Carriage of Pets is on a ‘Space Available’ basis only. A pet may be refused travel up to and including the scheduled departure time.
    2.6.1 PREPARATION OF PET FOR TRAVEL
    On Aer Arann flights the carriage of pets is permitted in the baggage hold of the aircraft only. Aer Arann will only accept up to 2 pets for travel per flight. Pets must be presented for carriage in the owner’s individual crate(s), which is escape-proof, leak-proof and of sufficient size to allow the pet to stand up, turn around and lie down fully stretched. The maximum dimensions permitted in an ATR42 and ATR72 aircraft are (21in. high)( 22in wide)(50 inlong).
    2.6.2 PETS ACCEPTED FOR TRAVEL:
    Domestic Dogs, cats and rabbits must be at least 10 weeks old before Aer Arann will transport them. Aer Arann will accept no other pets or animals or birds for travel.Guide dogs accompanying Passengers with disabilities will be carried free of charge in addition to the normal free baggage allowance. The airline must be advised in advance of travel.
    2.6.3 PETS THAT CANNOT BE ACCEPTED FOR TRAVEL:
    • Puppies or kittens under 10 weeks old.
    • An animal that is more than 6 weeks pregnant.
    • Pets so sedated, they cannot stand up.
    • Restricted Dog Breeds: (including cross-breeds):
    Boxer Dogs, Snub-nosed dogs, American Pit Bulls, Pit Bull Terriers, Japanese Tosas, Fila Brazileiros, Togo Argentinos, all Bull dogs, Pugs, Pekinese. (These snub-nosed dogs suffer from respiratory problems that increase with stress and so cannot be accepted for travel.)
    2.6.4 LIABILITY FOR CARRIAGE OF PETS
    Where carriage is not subject to the liability rules of the Convention, we are not responsible for injury to or loss, sickness or death of an animal, which we have agreed to carry unless we have been negligent.
