Only have 2 channels

Just moved into a new house in cork. They were using a old jerrold analogue box because they had no remote for the digital box even tho a digital subscription is being paid. Can anyone tell me why I have only got 2 channels or how to get the resr working. All the other channels say:

"This channel is not included in your Subscription"
"If you would like to subscribe please contact chorus on 1890 417888.. Thank you!"

Had no luck on the phone with them either!

I suspect the answer to your query can be found at the following link. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055281569

The entire Cork analogue service was shut down, you need to have a digital box to view anything on the network. The analogue Jerrold box is only really useful as a rather retro looking paper weight, or a technology museum piece.

It's the first part of the country to have gone 100% digital on cable.

Call UPC on 1909 (Freefone) ask for sales, you're a new customer if you've just moved in, and they'll get you sorted out.

No I have a digital box, all connected and set up and using a universal remote. I have looked thru the whole list of channels, I actually have 5 channels, RTE1, Setanta, Eurosport, EWTN and TMF.
I have rang 1909, but since i have no account number they pretty much told me to go f**k myself. Im just gonna wait for the bill to come thur the door somtime soon, get the account number and scream down the phone at them.

It seems so strange that only these 5 channels are coming thru.....

Don't waste your time with 1909 (which isn't their number), or 1908 (which is their CS number). Ring 1890 940 624 (sales line), you get picked up within about 2 minutes. When you say you have a digital box, what exactly do you mean? Was the box in the house when you moved in, or did you bring it with you?

Your opening post did not mention any of this.

.... The box was here when I moved in, just to clarify. And 1909 was a typo.

I think 1909 is O2 Ireland so they wouldn't be much help :) Sorry, I actually initially made the typo!

1908 is toll free and will get you straight through to UPC Sales too.

Just don't even bother telling them there's a box there.

Give them the address, tell them you want a new installation.

The box is the last person's responsibility not yours.

They'll send out a new box anyway!
