Pretty sure that would probably make it number 2 to wow already.

Having not seen any recent figures, I can't say for definite one way or the other, I'm sure there has been more copies of Guild wars sold, but because everyone who has bought AOC has bought it pretty recently and most people haven't gotten sick of it yet its safe enough to assume that a good amount of those 1 million units are active game accounts.

    A) WoW is surely a long way from 10 million subscribers atm with a massive ban wave gone out, right before the launch of Age of Conan.

    B) 5.5 million of WoW's 10 million subscribers are from the Asian market. A market funcom has not really much interest in.

    C) This is 2 weeks from launch. WoW sold 250,000 units for its European launch and then struggled for many months to break 1 million.

    D) The real test with Age of Conan will be how many subscribers it has after the free month. As that is when many MMO's begin the decline into obscurity.

But you have to also take into account the amount of people completly uninterested in the MMO genre before WoW was released and now.

But yea, seems pretty successful so far. We'll see after the free month.
