I am designing a word press blog but i want to change the name of the heading along the top of the page from blog, acrhive and about , to something different. Also is there a way to add more headings to a site...i have been looking around the net and all i have found where ways to optimise the site....... I know its not…

If you make a custom sidebar.php (or edit the existing one) you can call them whatever you want.
There are some good wordpress theming tutorials out there that'll take you through it.
Failing that, find yourself another wp theme that has headings more to your liking.
