Hard Drive Full, little question.

Well I'm going to get a new portable harddrive as my current 200gb MBP is full.

So my question is, if I move all my itunes music onto my new external, thus freeing space on the MBP, will I still be able to click into my playlists, songs etc. in itunes and they will play or will they come up as missing?

I am considdereing one of these at the moment:

Am I correct in saying that with the above if I use firewire there is no need to use the AC adaptor?

- plug the new drive in
- load itunes
- in preferences-->advanced...change the itunes music folder location to somewhere on your new HD
- close preferences
- consolidate the library
- in finder, delete the music off your MBP's HD

the consolidate will copy your music to the new location while preserving your library. You are then free to delete what you want from your internal HD
