Lying In An Interview

Ok im in the position now where i need a job badly but will be going back to college in october. Has anyone here ever lied about looking for full time work. I know the company will only take on full time people so i was thinking of telling them im not going back to college. Has Anyone here ever done this?

Yes... but then failed first year exams and ended up having to work there for a year anyway! (karma lol).
Why not look for a summer internship? Some companies will gladly take on someone for internship as they would not have to apy as much as qualified/experienced staff.

Yep, I did a few years ago. I was only in the job for a few months. I did feel bad about it, but didn't end up liking the job at all. If I had, I might have deferred college, but that's irrelevant now anyway.

My situation was similar - they'll only hire full-time. When I handed in my notice, I said that I had gotten on much better than I expected in my undergrad and intended to carry on with my education, having secured a place at the last minute.

People do it all the time - I used to be a recruiter for a large organisation and it was very annoying when a new employee did this.
Beware though - if a future employer goes looking for a reference if a few years time it could go against you.

I'm sure there's plenty of jobs you can do just for the summer - working in shops/mcdonalds/tourist places.

There's a good chance duping an employer like this could come back to bite you in the ass in years to come - remember Ireland is a very small country.

Try to work in a hotel and maybe some tourism related job. A tour guide sounds a class job.

Summer would be the peak period so you'd probably be let go even if you didn't quit.
Or try to get a summer internship but it's probably too late now
