Anyone have a multiregion hack for a Denon 1740 player

My dad bought a Denon DVD 1740 DVD player specifically for the multi region aspect which every site he looked at advertised it as being. It arrived this morning and after setting it up it isn't a multi region player. I looked around for a hack but couldn't seem to find one.

I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone had a hack for it or knew of where to find one.

Google is can be a great buddy.

Other than that why don't you do the normal consumer thing and return it?

I have been googling it but to no avail. As for returning it, it was bought online and I'm waiting for a reply from the site to see if I can return it.

Hmm, can't help ya myself. I did have a list of hundreds of DVD players that gave you instructions on how to change the regional settings (usually involved opening the tray and pressing certain buttons on the remote) but I ended up losing it :(

Have you tried updating your BIOS? How about installing the latest drivers? I'd recommend a clean install of Windows! Have you tried shouting at it? :p

Thanks for all the suggestions. Appears that there is no region hack but the site it was ordered from sent out a CD with firmware updates on it which unlock the multi region functions so it's all good.
