Your essential PS3 picks?

Okay, lets see how things stand with respect to the quality of various PS3 titles. I'd suggest that we choose our five favourite titles and maybe include a sixth 'wildcard' - a game we love but can't say why. Try to keep things varied, don't just run with FPSs!

TelePaul's five 'Desert Island' PS3 titles:

    COD 4: Modern Warfare
    Fifa 08
    Oblivion
    Ninja Gaiden Sigma
    Uncharted: Drakes Fortune

    Wildcard pick: Condemned 2

Well I've been playing it basically non-stop since I got it last November so number 1 has to be

    Rock Band,

will probably top my list for years, or until RB2 comes out.
Rest in no particular order really,

    GTAIV
    The Orange Box
    Ratchet and Clank
    Skate

Wildcard: Should prob be Skate but I'll go with Echochrome, or maybe Flow.

    GTA 4
    Everybody's Golf: World Tour!
    Uncharted
    Colin mcrae: Dirt
    Ratchet and Clank

Wildcard pick: Super Rub a Dub :D

Mmmm the sad thing is it's a tough question for the wrong reasons...there simply isn't enough good games to fill a top 5.
    I'll go with
    Fifa 08
COD4 (unless you have a pc then get it on that it's a million times better)
Warhawk is good fun for a quick blast but hardly next gen.

And I suppose the popular picks would be
Drakes Fortune was good (too short) but recommended.
GTA4 (If you liked those games ..i thought it was dead boring)

Bring on Aliens Colonial Marines :D

Oh **** yeah I forgot about Warhawk, I was obsessed with that for weeks when it came out, haven't played it in ages though.

Everyday Shooter is very good as well.

    GTA IV.
    MGS 4.
GT5:Prologue (only if you order from play or elsewhere that doesn't charge 40 quid).
COD4 (although as mention before if you have a pc get it on that for the superior controls).

Are you basing this on all the hype or have you played it ?

    GTA IV
    Burnout Paradise
    Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
    Ratchet & Clank
    Loco Roco

    Wildcard: Folklore

GRiD (I wouldn't waste money on half a game like GT5 prologue, wait for the full game)
    GTA IV

...and that's about it atm. I'll definitely pick up MGS4 based on the previous games but I'm pretty aprehensive as to what it will be like.

    I would go with:

    GTA IV,
    Grid,
    MGS4,
    UEFA Euro 2008,
    COD 4

    Wildcard: Ratchet and Clank

    COD 4
    GTA IV
    The Orange Box
    Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
    Oblivion

And I'm sure MGS 4 will be added to that when it's released.

Where's Lego Star Wars? Have you got Lego Indiana Jones yet? You're allowed one more pick!

Jesus how did I forget Oblivion! That game consumed me for months!

My copy of Lego Indiana Jones arrived on Saturday, had a quick go of it last night and it's great crack. If you liked the Star Wars versions then all the same humour is there. The John Williams music is brilliant as well which makes for a very atmospheric fun game. I'd recommend it.

    Cheers,

    Essentials:
    COD4
    GTA4
    WarHawk

    Recommended (though not essential):
    Uncharted
    GT5: Prologue
    Motorstorm

I would have added Oblivion but imo its a better experience on the PC.

Also, PixelJunk Monsters and Everyday Shooter are worth a look. Not to everyone's tastes but good fun for a few euros...

    Uncharted

damn them lego games are impressing me, might pick them up when i start work..
