I've just received a bill for €0.04 from a company I purchased some goods from a couple of months ago...
It cost 54C to post it to me! Stupid computers

The sales man laughed when I told him, anyway..

Whats the smallest bill you've ever received?

I haven't really received any really small ones but I've sent a few to customers. I once billed a customer in Colombian Peso by mistake, ended up being equal to about $0.20 :pac: That was embarassing! :o

I got a cheque from BT years ago after closing my account with them and having over paid my previous bill. It was for £0.01 and I decided against bothering to pay it into my acocunt.

€1.20 from Eircom for the balance on a discontinued service. Adding together postage both ways, cheque fees and taxes, and Eicom's admin costs, I'd guess the whole exercise cost about three times the value of the bill.

Not a bill but I got a cheque for my Ericom/Vodafone shares for 45p. It was going to cost over €1 to lodge it. Vodafone got to keep their 45p, they lucky gits! :D

My mate's mother got overcharged for something a few years ago and the company sent her a cheque for something like 27p! I think the stamp cost something like 30p too... Honest buisinesses ftw.:D

This reminds me of the plans to collect debts from foreigners who don't pay the m50 toll. Bureaucracy trancends financial sense it seems.

I often use 3V for online buying and after 3 months (when the card is out of date) they send you whats left (minus €5). So I have several cheques ranging from 12c to €1

My grans ESB bill once came to €0.01. Something to do with OAP credits! She didn't pay it, and they contacted her saying her bill wasn't settled! Madness.

€0.70 from NTL....and then I got a text message from ESB saying I owed €7.00.

I once closed a bank account I had in the states from Ireland. There was 98c in it and I still lodged the cheque! Luckily the AIB man was very nice and didn't charge commission on lodging a cheque in foreign currency!

When I closed my post office account I expected to get my money in cash (all 30 odd cent of it) but no. They sent the book off by registered post to Dublin and then they sent me a chque by registered post. What a freakin waste!

    Shrunken Bill

I was in hospital when Chernobil exploded! (no it wasn't me!) and had to sign off the dole and claim sickness benefit. When I was ok to go back to work, (or sign back on) they said I had been overpaid by 20p, but they were not going to send the bailiffs as I had shown due care and attention to try and prevent this happening!

Oooooh! now what did I have that was worth 20p?! (BTW that was in the UK)

The revenue sent me a letter saying I underpaid tax by 40 odd cent a couple of years ago but "in this instance the Revenue will not be pursuing the matter". I was expecting a Tax rebate that year.

Let me guess, the ISP was BT? I have a similar experience with BT which is why I cancelled my account with them.
