vlc player problem

    hey all
    having trouble with my vlc player, it said "that it cannot play file types and then closes". this has only started happening recently, i have uninstalled it and reinstalled the program, it work for a day and then the problem reappeared what could be causing this??

    lots, simply put. something might be corrupting your codecs or something.

    does the problem go away if you restart the PC?

    Reinstall the vlc player, its a free download anyway.

    Or you can install k-lite
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

    This will install any and every codec required to play any kind of media files. Once the codecs are installed even the Windows media player will start playing most of the video/audio files.
