Has anyone ordered from them? If I order 2 or more will I get caught for customs tax?

I've ordered from them in the past (2 or 3 titles at a time) with no problems with Customs.

It's a great site, but my orders in their last sale back in November/Decmeber got hit by customs, so be careful....I still might chance it again though...

Thanks OP I ordered 2 blu-rays came to about $49 (€31) after the discount.
Does anyone know what the allowed amount that we can safely buy before customs become interested?

22 euro. There was something about it being increased in December but I'm not sure of the details.

yep its supposed to go up to 150 euros in december unless some group tries to block it like your major retail stores here.

I'd say Cowen and Co will block it first, they need every cent they can get and it's easy money.

Did a big order with their 20% off sale last year - in excess of US$500.

Got hit for €109. They sent large orders out via UPS who often get hit.

With UPS and FedEx you don't stand a chance in hell of avoiding extra charges as they automatically declare and pay any customs on your behalf regardless. This is to prevent delays. Unless the retailer marks down the price on the box, which some will do within reason.

For anyone looking for R1 dvds I'd also recommend DVD Pacific. Their prices are just as good as Deep Discount and they offer several shipping options.

Yes, DVD Pacific haven't let me down.

    Play USA aren't great.

Amazon.com - good selection, good service (way better than Amazon.co.uk) but shipping charges are pricey enough. Only once hit for customs in six years though.

Amazon.com Marketplace now charge in excess of $12 postage on each DVD making their purchase prohibitive.

Region 1 DVDs on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace work out cheaper as the flat postage charge is £1.79 still.

That $12 delivery charge is a joke. No way could it cost that much to deliver DVDs to Ireland. There are so many HDDVDs I wanted to buy on the marketplace but couldn't because of that cost.

Just thought I'd chime in with my 2c on this business.

I put in a few orders with them last year. One order was hit by customs, but it was a box set which was quite expensive on amazon, and not available at all in our shops. I think I got it for about €45, so even with the customs charge, it was a bargain. However, it was a bit stressful, as it was coming up to Christmas and customs delayed it for about a week or so.

Also, one order went missing in the Christmas post. I've no idea what happened - in January I started chasing them up for it and it took about 2 weeks of arguing through email to get them to send another one, which they never actually did. Cue more emails - they eventually gave me a refund (though gritted teeth).

So for the 4 or 5 orders I put in (all Christmas presents), 2 went a bit starshaped, and the rest were just fine. Even so, I wouldn't use them again.

Ordered 3 Blu Rays off them before. Stung for another 15 quid by customs.
