Best Display's??

Ok, i'm in the market for a desktop display for my current iBook G4 Running leopard 10.5.2. (Although i am planning and saving to buy a MBP later in this year)

Anyway, i really love the look of the Apple HD cinema displays themselves but like*€899 for 23" is pretty expensive and i want to see if apple update them next week, hopefully with a built in iSight. I already have a new aluminum keyboard and mighty mouse in an attempt to make my ibook more compatable as a desktop machine, but i really need a nice monitor to finnish it off.

Size wise i would be looking for minimum 20" but 23' or over would be about right. So, what monitors do you fellow apple users find good???

I'm open minded and dont really "need" it to be an apple monitor, but i do want a nice slim one that would look great visually.

What advice could you offer on the situation??? Any recommendations???

Some Dell monitors used to use the exact same screens as the Apple Cinema displays but were a lot cheaper - Google for it. Personally I use a HP w2297h as a TV screen and love it. I've heard HP monitors called ugly, fugly, etc. but I can't honestly see what's wrong with them. 22" widescreen for €300.

Found an LG-L225WS 22" screen in PC world a while back for 189 yoyos in the ex-demo stand. Nice screen !! I had the old 23" Cinema display beforehand and it was nice but the response was pretty slow but at the time it was TTOTR !

@ ZENER.... WOW thats pretty amazing value.

I'm gona take a look at these dells online now and see what i think.

As far as apperance is concerned, well, i do care about how my monitor will look on the desk. Thats probably what i like about the slim line apple's. Also i'm gona head into PC World or harvey norman and just have a gander at some displays. I would eventually like to have one very good monitor as my main screen, and a second for dual-screening. You know.... for some hardcore computing! LOL

Oh so do I, I just don't honestly see what's wrong with the HPs. Meh. Happy shopping :)
