the packaging for memory cards , and print cartridges , i don't have a stanley knife , maybe i need a butchers knife ??

with over zealous health and safety ever rampant in our society , anyone else puzzled by the packaging used for some camera gear ?

The blister packs? While I'm sure everyone has suffered cuts to their hands, they're the best thing to have. They prevent product tampering which I imagine is the greatest concern of people in the biz...

Sandisk memory cards are the toughest to get into.
Takes a serious pair of scissors.

God I hate blister packs! Really hate those little b*stards! I never have a knife or scissors when I get them and nearly always end up cutting myself

i hope he has a good lawyer , or maybe not

Product tampering ?? is a bit lame , there not packing highly valuable articles , a non plastic carboard push box would be fine or an easy to open plastic container -- instead of breaking scissors and knives , and causing customer harm

maybe i should invent something easy to open , and send it on to HP

Individually they're not valuable, but an entire shipment would be. If a whole shipment was tampered with, lets say, and replaced with fakes or low quality copies, the consumer would not be able to tell if the package was tampered with and if consumers lost trust in the company they were buying from, they would stop buying, and said company would be out of business.

It guarantees that what's sent from the factory is what you get when you (eventually) open the package.

    From Wikipedia...

'A more secure package is known as a clamshell. Typically used for theft-prone items like consumer electronics, it consists of either two pre-formed plastic sheets or one sheet folded over onto itself and fused at the edges. They are usually designed to be difficult to open by hand so as to deter tampering and pilfering. A pair of scissors or a sharp knife is often required to open them. Care must be used to safely open some of these packages.'

still think its overkill , if it was a carboard only , press through , it would be pretty obvious if it had been opened -- and no cuts and screams

    LOL

1st time I heard that phrase was at Ireland v Israel - was sitting behind the Israel Goal and someone shoted it out when the keeper went down feigning injury for the 10th time. Had the whole tand in stitches.

Anyway - Ban blister packs I say
