    hey there
just wondering can anyone tell me that if when they install NTL digital they will reconnect my analogue cable point box in order to do so.
Its just i need the analogue cable box "live"
but instead of ringin them sayin i want analogue TV i reckon i should get digital its only a few euro more.
but the main thing is will they reconnect that cablelink box

It was NTL practice to replace Cablelink / RTE Relays (if there are any left!!!) branded cable points with NTL-branded cable points when installing digital. The NTL ones were typically a lot bigger and had screw-on instead of plug-in connectors, but not sure if they have any tangible benifit - I tested moving my box to a point which still had plug in connectors and it still worked. Not sure this is still the case though.

At any rate, if you haven't done anything illegal to it you shouldn't be worried...

Moving this thread to Cable/MMDS, incidently.

ntl digital comes through the same cable as the analogue so they will have to reconnect the cable

I'm not sure if there's a loopthrough on the NTL digital receiver, if there is then you could just use that for the analogue output.

Ah RTÉ Relays... I remember one of those boxes on the wall in our house in Ballyfermot but it was removed and somehow managed to survive to this day in my parents' house. I should really get a photo of it before it ends up in the bin, I'm sure it will eventually.
