    Hi,
Looking to buy scaffolding and trying to work out how much I need.
All addverts say 105 9 foot uprights, 52 transoms, 97 8 foot boards etc. etc. What I need to know is...how many of each do I need!

I need to scaffold about 25 metres long by two stories high.

    Also :
What do I need to look out for...Is some scaffolding better than others.....will I sell it easily enough later on?...any other advice / pitfalls before I buy?

    Thanks.

Thanks. But it doesn't answer my question.
Can anyone tell me how much of each piece of scaffolding I need to build a scaffold as per the dimensions in my original post?

    Thanks.

The resale value of 2nd hand scaff is prolly close to zip because for H+S / insurance reasons buyers need to know where it came from, how well maintained it was etc was it abused it.

since u are intent of buying it I suspect you have already priced renting it and it seems unattractive, however the scaff people should tell you the quantities: after all just ask them what the list is if u were to buy it.

If u buy and erect and then have trades using it and there is an accident, I dont think your PL will cover you as you are not qualified to erect scaff.

My view, rent and sleep easily.

    Thanks for that.
I have two guys reslating a roof. I know them well (but of course all that changes when there's a claim!!)...

They will erect the scaff themselves.

Would this absolve me from being liable do you think?

On the original question...out of interest...how many of each scaff item would I need to cater for 25 metres by 2 story? I know nothing about scaff!!!

How much of each piece of scaff would I need to cover 25 metres by 2 story.

I haven't a clue and there is info on it somewhere but I just cant think where at the moment but Im sure its not hard to work out once you know the spacings etc.

Take the dimension to wherever you intend to buy the stuff and they will tell you or if you know anyone that uses it regularly they would be able to help.
