a hat for a cat?

WE have a 1 year old white cat. Putting sunblock on its ears everyday is a bit of a pain and I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find a hat that might serve the same purpose . Failing that does anyone have an alternative idea.

I've seen pics of white cats with melanomas on their ears and it's certainly not pretty.
    Thanks.

I don't think a hat is going to be the solution to your problem.

First off, the cat will do pretty much anything to take it off. That will just be a natural reaction.

Secondly, if it covers its ears (which I assume it will, since this is what you're trying to protect from the Sun), it will affect it's hearing - and as you know from watching your cat's ears move and twitch, hearing is a very important sense to them.

Thirdly as this cat will obviously be outdoors (hence the need for sun protection), a hat could be dangerous in terms of getting caught in branches, etc.

So, if it appears to be prone to sunburn, I think you'll either have to keep applying the sunblock, or keep it indoors on sunny days.

Thanks for that, though we are often away for a few days at a time and the cats have a cat flap to come and go as they please so a longer solution is required. Is there maybe a sunblock that can be applied once a week?
