    does anyone know the rate of tax .. if any you have to pay on partime summer work if your under 18

    The same as everyone else. Lower band at 20% and upper band at 41% [if your lucky enough to be earning that much]. It'll all depend on how much you are earning. Everyone has a basic amount they can earn before they start to get taxed. This tax credit is divided and spread out throughout the year. So more than likely you pay a small amount of tax but will be able to claim this back at the end of the year as you haven't used up the tax credits on the months before and after the summer.

    I'm no expert but I paid very little tax on any of my summer jobs. Hope this was some help.
