Just curious to know if anyone is paying these at say the $50/100 level and how are they doing?

Just started playing those yesterday - or was it Tuesday - Played 3 won 2

I think they are profitable if you play sneaky early on - people seem to be very loose playing them and some chips can be got early.

I've played about 400 of these over the past week. Mostly $20s but some $30s and $10s also. Im certain I have an edge in these yet have an ROI of -5%. Although whilst I do believe it is possible for a very good STT player to acheive a small positive ROI, without a very good RB deal its probably not worth your time.

    I played a small number of these at $20 & $30s 10handed.

Really struggled as the blinds were going up so quick (coupled with people not getting knocked out quickly enough) that I was finding myself in spots where I had no idea whether I should be folding, calling or even raising.
Really tricky Spots that never really happen in standard STTs, maybe 2 all-ins ahead of me when I have the average 7BB stack, a shorty on the button behind me with 2BB and the BigBlind already AllIn. And I have something like 77-TT

I think you need to have your ICM figures absolutely nailed on before you will make a long term profit in these.

Ive played 130 of these last 2 weeks and have a 20%roi at the 50 dollar level most superturbos but few normal turbos too.
THe standrd is really woeful they are huge crapshoots too but you seeguys folding 200 chips left out of the blinds to win 3000 trying to sneak into the money etc even 5 handed.
My sample size is very small but if you could play 50 of these a day god help your brain with decent cash backdeal and a 5 to 10% roi 300dolls about aday.

The reason I asked was that in terms of hourly rate I do much better from turbos than non-turbos but my ROI is better in non turbos over smaller sample but I thought super turbos might be taking it too far.

I played a few of the double stack STTs recently and it was just pointless playing them because everyone was still in by the 100/200 level anyway so it always turns into a push-fest.

BTW the the standard of play, even in the higher buy in STTs has descended to the level of absolute lunacy.

played 500 of these (turbo & super 50/100/200) last week, 4% ROI which has been spent to medical expenses and a new keyboard that got smashed during the end of a 40 game downswing)

the italians make me laugh a lot - thought process "you raisa de me!?! i show you raisa you irish pigdog, i gotta 2 hearts you pieca de **** - how you lika that bananas?!"

    Funny and true.

I tried these for a while. Started great and was convinced I was on my way to a quick million, but then I ran bad and reality bit. I think luck is a much bigger factor. There are obvious skills that can be exploited, but I'm not sure the edge is enough to beat the rake by very much.

My record in STT's is in direct proportion to the size of the starting stack and the length of the blinds: I do best in the double stacks, and worst in the super turbos. I wish it was the other way around as it'd make for a much higher hourly rate but alas it ain't. (Similarly, I wish I was a 100 metre sprinter, not a 200 km plodder).

Also translates to MTTs, both live and online. The bigger the stack, the better I be. One of the reason I like rebuy/addon tournaments which effectively allow me to buy a big stack.

Anyone trying these, don't be fooled by early results. Wait till you've played at least a 100 before determining whether your edge is sufficient.

The rapidly increasing blinds don't really hurt you that much if you just sit out and aim for an itm finish imo. Maybe someone can run an ICM calculation on that?

i grind these out nearly all day on boyles...my take on them is on the other SnG thread.
