Heading to Liverpool for a couple of days in September and looking for some Irish pubs? Anybody know of any, preferably serving food and with children allowed? Thanks

there is O'Neills right smack bang in the middle of town, it serves food, Pogue Mahones does not serve food though

bound to be loads of others with liverpools Irish population of years gone by

Never been there but I'd say there's a good bet that Liverpool has the highest % of Irish pubs outside of Ireland.

Are u heading over for a Liverpool game ?

If not, and should you be over there on a Saturday or Sunday where Liverpool are at home, then you will be in the company of probably 2,000 or 3,000 other Irish over there (not to mention Norwegians).

If Everton are at home, the same will apply only with a far less crowd from Ireland/Norway.

Be aware that if Liverpool are at home, it may be difficult (and expensive) to get accomodation & flights, so book early.

If your trip doesn't take in a Saturday or Sunday, then ignore everything I've said above and you won't have a problem finding Irish or any other type of bars. The city centre is relatively compact.

Ok I am a Dub Living in liverpool so heres your list:

O'Neills Wood St managed by a local guy from blanch called Eammon servers food and opens late live music most nights.
The slaughter house on fenwick st more of a office crowd pub never been in it at night tbh
Flannagins Apple down in matthew st good athmosphere and is big on 2 floors
    Pogues Mahone

there are others but they are a bit rough. my advise is to stick to Wood St and Matthew St they are the night life hot spots there are plenght of other bars which are very good all in wood st and matthew st you will have a blast and the drink is much cheaper than Dublin

Thanks everyone, Matthew Street and Wood street so, are they both near enough to Lime Street, planning getting the bus in from the airport and dropping off luggage at left luggage in the train station, cant check into travelodge until 3. Was thinking of doing a tour of Anfield and Goodison as well

Your trip, Munster Magic, and your choice. But why go out forrin' and look for an imitation of what you can have at home?

Hi Guys. I'm going to Liverpool in August and I'm thinking about staying in The Vines on Limestreet. Has anyone ever heard of this place? There is no website for it so I just wondered what the accommodation was like. The reviews on the web just talk about the pub part and say its really great but its a review of the Accomodation I'm looking for. Can anyone help me?

Its actually working out cheaper than a weekend away at home (if you get my drift), 50euro for return flights and 2 nights accomadation, not a hope of getting 1 night accomadation for 50euro, never mind 2

Believe you me, I've yet to see anything in Ireland that would be akin to the Irish bars in Liverpool.

I have been in a number of "Irish" pubs in various countries. Never found one that was like a real Irish pub.
