    Hi lads,

    I'm having a problem with a laptop.

    Was using it lastnyt, it went into hibernate and now it won't power on at all.

    The power switch does nothing, when I plug it in none of the charging lights come on, took the battery out and kept the power supply in but no joy, opened it up to see if fan was clogged up but its fine!

    Any ideas? I can't figure it out!

    Try another charger, with the same output voltage and ampage of course.

    If theirs a light on the transformer of the charger, does that turn on when plugged into the wall?

    Im thinking botched charger at the mo, or the socket for the charger in your laptop has broken. Happened to a friend of mine.

    Was the laptop low on charge when you hibernated? If its the charger it wouldnt make sence that it wont turn on if there was some charge still left in the battery.

    Hey,

    I thought the same myself...but there's a light on the charger when plugged into the wall.

    The battery was on full charge so I can't see why it wouldn't power on when it's not plugged in.

    I thought it might be the jack but it doesn't seem to be loose or anything!

    :confused::confused:

    its possible the charger died when you were using it last night; the battery would have drained and the laptop would have gone into hibernation from low power.

    The green LED on the charger is active when it's plugged in so I doubt its the charger
