Now Public?

    Hi guys,

I've gotten a request from a website called NowPublic (seems to be an indie media site) requesting to use some of my photos that I had up on Flickr for a story they are doing about Venice.

There's nothing special about the photos, and I don't really have any major problem letting them use them, but I was just wondering if anybody else had given this site or similar site permission to use their photos in the past? Or is it just usual Flickr spam?

    Advice appreciated. Thanks.

if you're ok with them using your images without you charging them for the use of the images (at which point they may lose interest anyway and move on) you could at least request attribution and links to your flickr or web site. At least that would drive traffic to your site.

Haven't had the experience myself but there's been a few threads of a similar nature so a search on the forums will most likely yield some results.

    Good luck.

Ya had bit of a search but couldn't find anything relevant to nowpublic.

I would have no interest in charging for them, they're only a few holiday photos really.

    The mail says:

"If you do give your permission, your photo will always remain your property, and whatever license you have specified will follow its use on NowPublic.com"

The photos themselves are harmless and I couldn't really see them being used in any sort of inappropriate way.
