The Ending to Lost: its all a dream, (anyone remember Dallas !), but who's dream you might ask, well... as if you didn't already know, it's............................Jack. Yep the central character, its all based around him. Recap, he's on a plane with his father's (Christian) coffin. Cindy (air hostess) slips him 2 bottles of vodka !! nuf said. He passes out BEFORE the crash !! .........then ........wakes up in the jungle. So I guess its all a dream, ie. Jack's dream, maybe he's LAST dream as he heads on his merry way to St. Peter or maybe somewhere else !!!

PS. All very simple & boring really.......but it was a good trip.

I dont know the ending to lost, there are things that warp any theroy like that stupid 4 toed statue i mean who would build something like that? and why?

EDIT: they wont do a dream because its a major cop out, the smoke and defence wall dont cover modern tech neither does moving a island,

oh ok. I get it. What if the island movies through time instead of to somehting else, what is moving the island does not hide it in a different ocean what if it hides it somewhere else in timee.

This would explain the advanced exexplained things, also in the future we are going to lose our baby toes and grow a extra thumb so the 4 toed statue, the smoke & the defence fence would make sense if the isalnd at one time existed in a different point in time?

my opinion is that now desmond is with penny and will lay low and not be seen as much, but because of his hate for mr.witmore, he will end up killing him in the end (and as desmond shots mr.witmore he says "see ya in another life brother")in think its a perfect setting for the end

it really is impossible to know what happens next season and season 6 but we'll just have to see, but i stand on my vision of desmond killing witmore

by the way (USER45701) how do you know in the future we will have only 4 toes and one extra thumb

I have a feeling that the final scene of the last ever ep of Lost will have Jack, Kate etc all living in houses on the island and they have accepted that they have to live there because of the islands strange properties and then there will be a loud noise. Everybody will come out of their houses and look up. A plane will be seen in the sky split in two and crash out of view. With that Jack will start directing various people to go to the direction of the crash site in the same vein that Ben did in Season 3.

I'm guessing the island is on a time loop different to the time in the 'real world'. Moving the island moves it to a different time and place. It'll end when the Oceanic 6 figure out how to break the time loop so that everyone can return to their lives before the crash.

    Or something.

This is good, i could live with that. Also, Locke could be the new "Jacob", seeing as how he's dead n all. The Island has never been depicted as a "bad" place, for them to make it back home and have it be seen as something victorious the writers would need to vilify the Island to the extent that being released from it needs to be celebrated and can be seen as the ultimate achievement in terms of the show. I dont see this happening in the next 2 seasons, so I think for one reason or another the surviving losties will become content with life on the Island and be its next generation of inhabitants. Seeing another plane crash right at the very end would be excellent and would certainly add to the idea that the Island goes on forever regardless of who lives there.

I have a feeling the island's volcano, mentioned in Man Behind The Curtain, may come into play in the final season and the show will end with the island being destroyed.

Anyone read Stephen King's The Shining (everyone's seen the film but the book is very different)? I was re-reading it a while ago and it reminding me a lot of Lost, with the Outlook hotel (which was much more of a character in the book) standing in for the island.

Funny you should mention King. The creators have frequently mentioned his writings as having direct influences on the show, mainly The Shining, The Stand, and The Dark Tower. The fact that King has said all his books exist in the one universe makes me wonder: will we see more crossovers between Alias/Lost/even Cloverfield? I know it's a stretch but Matt Reeves did hint at the possibility after someone pointed out the Dharma symbol at the start of Cloverfield.

Or maybe just a cute how do ya do, like the Hanso Foundation being mentioned at the end of MI3

Yeah they mentioned The Stand a lot in the early days of the show. I keep waiting for some kind of Randall Flagg character to pop up. Initially everyone said Locke but given his penchant for blowing things up he's more like the Trashcan Man tbh, lol. Perhaps Jacob or Abaddon.

I'm in the middle of reading The Dark Tower series at the moment. It's pretty good.

It turns out that the island is in fact a large alien craft, where four-toed aliens have been covertly studying earth.
matthew abaddon and richard alpert pull off their latex human masks and fly the island back into space along with the remaining losties, who have been chosen as earths ambassadors.

The last character left alive is Vincent. Final scene is a shot of him at the graveyard. Zoom out to shot of the island. End.

Oooh, Battlestar Galactica ending. Now let's do the Scooby Doo ending:
matthew abaddon and richard alpert pull off their latex human masks

Actually, the pulling off of human face masks reminds me of V. Here mousy mousy.

My theory, and I really hope I'm wrong, is that we'll see the O6 get back to the island, Locke will still be there waiting (alive), and then the Lost logo comes up. No answers, only questions. The Sopranos ending, if you will. I hope not though.

It's definitely not going to be a Murder She Wrote ending. I have every faith that they'll answer the important mysteries, but I would imagine that they'll leave the viewer with two possible answers, and leave it to us to interperet. There's just no way they can answer all the little mysteries anyway.

The last shot is probably Jack opening his eye...

    No.
We heard Bernard speaking on the radio to Boone, so they were always going to come up I think...
Eko was one of the best characters the show ever had, and his interaction with Locke during Season 2 was brilliant.
Libby was probably supposed to play a bigger part, but she ****ed it up with teh drink driving malark.

I think it's looking wuite obvious that Widmore is going to have a bigger role in the next few seasons so here's what I predict. Instead of fighting with Charles, after marrying Penny, Desmond sides with him and becomes a type of protege to him. We've already seen that Sun gets in contact with him later on so I could see two factions, Ben's and Charles' looking for the Island in season 5 after it has moved. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Hurley is the person who knows where it is because his dead friends (such as Eko) tell him where. Both Ben and Charles get parties together to look for the island finding it at roughly the same time at the end of season 5. Season 6 would just involve a war between the two sides for control of the island involving the others as well

It ends with Jack, Hurley, Swayor and Eocke in a diner! Journey is playing on the jukebox. Kate is outside trying to park her car! There's a few shadey looking guys in the diner, they look like they are going to pop off one of the lads! Then Kate comes in and everyone is happy and then it ends, just like that!

Interestingly enough I was reading lostpedia article about Abaddon last night and it has some interesting points which may support the idea he is antichrist type figure which is pasted below

Many Biblical scholars believe Abaddon to be Satan or the antichrist. Others have stated that he may be one of the lesser demons of hell, or even a dark angel.(From the Wikipedia definition of the biblical name Abbadon) [1]

    # "Abaddon" is the name of the biblical Angel of the Abyss (Revelation 9:11). The name is Greek for "destruction" or "the destroyer". As a place, it is likened to Sheol or hell.

    # The name is rendered in Greek as Apollyon and described as king of the locusts which rose at the sounding of the fifth trumpet. "In appearance the locusts were like horses arrayed for battle; on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces, their hair like women's hair, and their teeth like lions' teeth; they had scales like iron breastplates, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle. They have tails like scorpions, and stings, and their power of hurting men for five months lies in their tails. They have as king over them, the angel of the Abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon." (Revelation 9:7-11)

    # Abaddon is pictured as a human sized locust, and is known as the lord of pestilence. "Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth; they were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green growth or any tree, but only those of mankind who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads; they were allowed to torture them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torture was like the torture of a scorpion, when it stings a man. And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death will fly from them." (Revelation 9:3-6)

Given how carefully the writers assign names it definitely appears Abaddon is bad news alright. I love the idea that he's a sort of antichrist figure. Perhaps he's Jacob's opponent? This would mean that the real war isn't between Ben and Widmore but between Jacob and Abaddon. And Widmore is working for Abaddon as apposed to the other way around as everyone assumed initially. We know Abaddon has been to the island so why isn't he there anymore? Perhaps he was cast out and is now trying to get back.

What's interesting is that Abaddon played a significant role in getting Locke to the island, something Richard had previously failed to do. The way he told Locke that he'd "owe him one" sounded pretty ominous. I don't know when he'll call upon Locke for that favour but I sense an TESB-type moment when he does, filled with dark revelations. I reckon there has to be multiple forces at work on the island, some for good, some for evil. What side is Locke on?

My guess is that Abaddon will tie in to many, if not all, the Oceanic passengers going to the island. He's already visited Hurley as well as Locke and I reckon he's visited several more. I also think Abaddon will explain how Libby got from the mental asylum to the island. I bet he got her to go to the island.

As for my ending to Lost, something that doesn't require an honours degree in physics would be nice. :pac:

I'd like Jack & Kate to end up living there (on the Island) but in a different time, and thats what the skeletons of Adam and Eve are .. their remains ..
it would put a nice little completeness link to it .. even have Richard or some other other being their descendant ??

About the 4 toed statue .. I think this is gonna be explained by Aliens or some crap like that ... aka Indiana Jones 4 .. what a heap of **** ,..

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_(TV_series)#Discredited_theories

    Discredited theories
At the heart of the series is a complex and cryptic storyline that spawns numerous unresolved questions.[67] Encouraged by Lost's writers and stars, who often interact with fans online, viewers and TV critics alike have taken to widespread theorizing in an attempt to unravel the mysteries. Theories mainly concern the nature of the island, the origins of the "monster" and the "Others," the meaning of the numbers, and the reasons for both the crash and the survival of some passengers.

Several of the more common fan theories have been discussed and rejected by the show's creators, the most common being that the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 are dead or in purgatory. This was specifically denied by J.J. Abrams.[68] Furthermore, Lindelof has rejected speculation that spaceships or aliens influence the events on the island, or that everything seen is a fictional reality taking place in someone's mind. Carlton Cuse dismissed the theory that the island is a reality TV show and the castaways unwitting housemates[69] and Lindelof, many times, has refuted the theory that the "monster" is a nanobot cloud similar to the one featured in Michael Crichton's novel Prey.[70][71

I'm inclined to think this is pretty much the nail on the head
