Age of empires collectors edition

I have recently purchased the "Age of Empires Collectors edition" from xplosiv and cant seem to get it to work. My operating system is Windows XP Professional. I have downloaded every patch I can find, I have also changed the compatability mode in the games properties as suggested on the box yet I still cant get it to run.…

From NTcompatible.com it says that AoE 1 and 2 should all work fine under XP, but dont work at all under vista. Doesn't give up a seperate entry for collectors edition, but anyway heres the results:

I used to play AoE2 conquerers frequently online under XP and had absolutely no problems (Using XP professional, SP2).
