I passed ACCA F1,F2,F3 and learned by myself, now I started F4, F5 and F6, but I found it was difficult for me to study at home, any advice?

If I choose a evening class, which education school is better?
I heard there are Bpp, DBS and Griffith College.

    Thanks for you advice!

Really sorry for hijacking your thread but just wondering what material you used for F1? Was it for the computer based version?

I used BPP for F1, and did CBE.

    Hi,

I did F4 in DBS and the lecturer was very good, her name is Sharon Sheehan.

Am now sitting F5 and F6 in BPP (changed cos location was handier). the lecturer for F6 is really good, very practical and lots of exam practice. Unfort cant say the same for F5, I stopped going to lectures after 4 weeks.

I know the lecturer for F5 in DBS and he is very good so maybe go there for F4 and F5 and BPP for F6. Then again, I heard the F6 lecturer in DBS is very very good so you should prob just go to DBS for all of them in my opinion!

I will be moving onto F5 for the next round of exams and just received timetables from BPP and DBS- I've previously attended DBS, It seems that the F5 Class in DBS runs from 8 to 10pm, while the BPP classes run from 6.15 to 9.45pm-over the same period to cover the same course content I imagine- has anybody experience with this course? Any opinions on whether shorter classes are sufficient to cover the course?

    Thanks

    Hi xbutterfly,

As with Kinetic I also apologise for jumping on your post. I am enrolling with the ACCA and would like to sit the F1, F2 and F3 exams in December. I was wondering how you found self learning and what materials you needed for this, where to get them, etc.
I already received advice in this forum regarding the ACCA exams, but was unaware that I could attempt self study until I read your Post. I hope you do not mind but I sent you a PM to discuss options.
    Cheers,

CAn some body reply to in rainbows as I have the same question about the length of classes. does DBS cover less material?

I have attended DBS for all my classes and have found them to be extremely professional and helpful (especially in their admin team!!). They have a very handy online site to get you notes if you ahve missed them (I don't know if BPP do this...perhaps someone else can elaborate).

In my presonal opinion, a good lecturer will helpa little in understanding atopic, but if you're sitting ina class with 70 other people, the scope for asking questions is limited and in teh end, you have to do the work yourself.

As for the course contect, it's the same exam regardless of the college, so I imagine each lecture has their own way of covering the classes (perhaps the DBS course has more weekend days?).

Thanks for that Kine. Yes I have been looking into both collages and they seem to be pretty similar in terms of the material offering. I guess it depends on the lecture really.

Was it ACCA or CIMA classes you were attending. I am doing CIMA and noticed there seems to be a couple more weekend days involved alright. Maybe this makes up for the shorter class hours. Does anybody think BPP is significantly better the DBS?

I was doing the ACCA classes, but had 8 exeptions so didn't encounter a lot of the F1-F9 (or whatever it is now) lecturers.

Personally, I dont worry about the lecturers for several reasons:

    1) Usually, after a days work, spending 4 hours to someone talkinga bout audit doesn't appeal..
    2) I miss a few!
    3) As I mentioned above, you pass the exam on your own work, not a lecturer. However, in DBS I have found the lecturers approachable to solve any issues I haven't understood.
