PS3 game hosting on Eircom BB

I'm using 2mb eircom BB, with the standard netopia wireless router.

I can join online matches, but not not host my own. Friends in the UK are able to host matches but when I invite them or they invite me all we get is:

    Error
    Cannot connect to host

Does anybody know a workaround to this? I had a similar issue trying to host games on GTA as well.

I'm thinking of just dumping the router and getting a new one, the firewall exceptions are too strict:

Port Ranger - XXXX - XXXX
    Base port range - XXXX

You're only given a list of ports to connect to from Software website

Just set your firewall to low, you have to with Netopia routers to host games. I find Netopia routers good and I would not rush out to change to one with lower standard network security.
