    Okay, lets break it down.

    You're 20
    Im assuming you've no debt
    No commitments

    So...

The question you've got to ask yourself is, would it really matter coming back with no arse in your throusers? You have none of the above problems to stop you.

The dream doesnt seem to be going away, does it? Is it not better to give it a whirl than not? If you were on your deathbed and you realised that you played it safe in your life rather than take risks and followed your dream, would you be disgusted with yourself?

Do it while you can, you're young enough to cope with any ramifications (if any) i.e, financial one's.

I'm 25 and only starting to follow my dream now. It didnt go away for me either. I wish I had have done it when I was younger. But at least im pursuing it now rather than never.

DO IT DO IT DO IT, (imo).:pac:

Life's too short. f*ck it, what's the worst that can happen. You got into trouble before - you decide whether you do that again or not. Could be that your self sabotaging your dream cos you're afraid of success or feel you dont deserve it or something. I do this a lot but im getting better at not doing it - ha. This is a fresh go of things so don't taint it with what went wrong the last time.

    GOOD LUCK!:p

    Go for it.
You can always apply for college as a mature student (23+) when more important things than a Leaving Cert. are valued.
Don't live your life thinking 'if only I had done that'.

For the love of God OP - do it! Imagine how you feel setting off on the adventure you always wanted. Go for it - worry about the rest later - you are young.

OP, perhaps the four previous posters are seeing some text that I'm not seeing. What is this dream?

    Indeed.
We can hardly advise you until we know what the dream is.
13 year olds dream of being rock stars or flying to the moon.

OP. I do think you should pursue your hearts desire, as otherwise, some years down the road, there is a chance that you will probably wonder "what if". I do have to say that I too am curious. As someone in their 30's I am now only pursuing my dream of doing something I have wanted to do since I was 14.

What difference does it make what the dream is?

    Shes 20 now, not 13.

Even if it is to be a rock star - so what?! Anything is possible and just because it may be difficult, it shouldn't mean not to try.

It makes every difference. You cant give somebody advice if you dont know what they're talking about.

If its their dream and they cant forget about it, then surely they should give it a go.

My point is - even the biggest dreams are possible to achieve.

I have been told many times that my dream is unattainable. I ignored it and big fat did it anyway. I got good news this week that made going for it worthwhile.

The type and extent of the dream does not matter. Should the OP bite the bullet for this dream they cant forget? In my opinion - YES!

Regret the things you didn't do, not the things you did.

no matter what the dream is i say give it a whack.

the worst thing in the world is looking back in 10 years time and saying 'what if'.

when u kinda get into your 20s stuff starts popping up and u have to pay car loans etc etc etc, so go for itn now before it become too unattainable!!! :)
