Trying to help someone out with this. This crap was on his laptop - and I thought I had managed to clear it off. However, thats not the case. In the systray - in very right hand corner - is "VIRUS ALERT!".
Also, the hard drives/cd rom drives are not visible under "my computer". Also, when I search for it, it comes back blank - presumably because I cannot select the C drive.
Had AVG free edition installed yesterday and did a complete scan - assumed that everything would be ok after this. Just doing a spybot scan now.

What can I do to get access to the hard drive directories so that I can manually delete this weed - along with its associated files.???

    Thanks for that Aidan.

It took both Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware to shift it - but I *think* its cleared.

Only remaining issue is trying to get C: and D: drives to list under 'my computer'. Is there some way I can put that right manually??
