    Alcohol not free, trial only.
Daemon tools, lite & basic versions are free, wiki

Check out Gizmo for a list of the best freeware utilities.

Deamonware just feels spammy to me and I've never used alcohol. Everytime I install deamonware i end up regretting it.

Magic Disc is quite discrete and has plenty of functionality. And 100% freeware.

(Its parent program however, Magic ISO, is shareware, but is for making ISO files and has nothing to do with your ability to mount files)

    Yes, er, not free.
    >_>

Daemon tools and alcohol 120% are perfect for this imo. Used them both for years.

Daemon Tools - but be careful when installing it, it tries to install some extra crap by default.

Ah, a lot of things do, just untick them. No need to blacklist good s/w due to that imo.

+1 daemon tools is a top notch program, granted it is a little bit sly in wanting you to install toolbars etc but just take your time with the install and watch the check boxes you tick and away you go. :)

Magic Disc does exactly what I need it to and never once tried to bother me with crap, not even trying to advertise for its big brother app. I dont see what deamonware does any better, in a direct comparison.

    +1 for magic disc

used to use Daemon tools a year or two back but caused me some issues and seemed to integrate itself a bit too deeply in the system if i remember right... and stopped the real drive working properly
