Heading to Egypt with Travel Department

Currently looking into the option of takinga trip to Egypt with theTraveldepartment.ie. Just wondering if anyone has done it and what they thought?

Looked at the option of staying in one place and visiting all the sights but it seems to involve a lot of travelling back and forth?

I've read the previous info on Egypt but all these seem to be based on people staying in one resort.

    Thanks!

Hey, Can't help you with the travel dept. query but Egypt is very easy to travel around on your own. You wouldn't need to go on a tour if it wasn't your thing. It would be tiring to base yourself in Luxour for example and travel to Aswan, Cario, Sinai and Abu Simbel. You could use internal flights though and take a cruise between Luxour and Aswan as well. Budget used to do a 2 base holiday eg. Cairo and Luxour for 10 days or 2 weeks but don't think they offer it any more. Maybe Panarama though or one of the other operators.

My parents go with the travel dept. regularly, and they've always been reliable with good accommodation choices and great food.

I'd go for it. The only thing is that the crowd on the tours might be slightly older ... but that's no biggie.
