If I was to download movies to a dvd, what would the best option be to view it on an xbox 360 - what's the story with +/- and the speed of the disc?

Also, is there any format in particular I should download?

btw i am pretty sure this is dodgy territory.
Say if i was to rip one of my own DVDs to my computer, then the easiest way to play it back on my Xbox would be by putting it on a USB key or drive and plugging it into my xbox. i do it all the time and it generally works fine as long as you it encoded to DivX(.avi) or h.264(.mov).

What am I doing wrong then? I put an mpeg episode of southpark onto a disc, but when I put it into the 360, it just says "mixed media disc"

Correct me if I'm wrong here but....

When you first connect to the internet/xbox Live you d/l an update which allows you to play .avi files. Typically, avi files can be DivX and XVid codecs and other codec avi files.

I don't think you cant play Mpegs???
