I was shocked at the price of this - Eur30/40/50 for a roll of 10m/20m/30m, with varying widths & quality (expensive if you want to double layer the sheets)

Whats the cheapest you have seen for these weedblock sheets/rolls, & where ?

Should be no need to double layer the sheets unless you are using newspaper as a weed prevention fabric.
Which by the way, is the cheapest pre-bark mulch weed prevention layer you can get.

Thanks for reply, but my concern is that with cats & dogs scratching the bark & whats underneath it, this would quickly ends up in quite a mess.

I'm still on the lookout for where these rolls can be bought cheapest

initial weed-free soil + 5 layers of unglossy newspaper + a 2 inch layer of bark mulch = an economical albeit short term weed barrier.

    Great recommendation m8

Delivered today. 100m roll for just a little more than the price of 2 30m rolls from B&Q.

The B&Q stuff looks like tissue paper compared to whats just been delivered.

Now to work this weekend !

Ground cover membrane wanted as cheap as possible for polytunnel. I am living just outside Cork city so if anyone knows where I can purchase this locally, I would be very grateful.

I've seen them used outdoors for leaf mould and other uses. They disintegrate within two years leaving a mess behind and around the place.
