    you know when your measuring the distance of a road on a map in the shorts questions, well do you just tear a strip of paper out of you exam booklet?!!!:confused::D

    yep, course ya can, and unless ya wanna use a piece of string, it's the easiest too.

    take a piece of string in with you, then measure it with your ruler.

    geography is a tough subject to do in the alotted time, there's no time to be arsing about measuring a road with a piece of paper.
