Anyone see this article in the independent? http://www.independent.ie/national-news/nearly-100-in-scramble-for-grocery-store-jobs-1393781.html

Basically londis put up a notice for store assistants with deli experience. Well 24 hours later 100 applicants turned up there was so many that 40 of them had to wait out on the streets to get an interview. Do londis pay unusually high wages for shop assitants or are things really getting that bad now? I know the economy took a little bit of a dive but this seems ridiculous

That sounds like something from the 70s or 80s - although it is student job hunting time.
