    benzoic acid..

Q1: What action could be taken if some of the crystals in the leg of the funnel or on the filter paper during the hot filteration?

Q2:When measuring the melting point why heat slowly?

Q3:Do the results of your exp. indicate that benzoic acid is a ionic or covalent compound

Q4:2 samples have melting point 112-116 and 120-121 degrees/c . could they be the same substance? how would u check your answer?

anyone come up with the amswer?? all help appreciated...thanks

    Q1: Add some hott water
Q2: So it's easier to see the melting point
Q3:no because to melting point is relatively low compared to other ionic compounds(go find one) showing it's a molecular compound
Q4:Yes, and just write out the filtration process and how to check the melting points to purify them:)

    And don't double post
