    Heron/Crane (one of them!)

Cropped and Selective B&W although the large flickr photo shows the bird detail better than the medium size. I think I could have burnet the boat he's standing on a bit more, make the blacks darker a bit.

The 3rd had great potential but you never caught the main Swans full body...
I also think it's cropped either side too much....

Had to do a tight crop, nasty pidgeons and tatty runners kinda ruining the shot otherwise.

Wow, I know how you feel, got a great few snaps of my dog but when I looked at 'em on my PC after, I had terrible background ****.

    :(

The original pic is def fantastic though...

    Where was this taken btw?

Its Woodquay in Galway, a lot of Swans hanging round there now as they're visited pretty frequently by tourists/locals with bread and the likes. I have a shot of a lady feeding one and they're certainly becoming more adjusted to getting close to humans.

Use the stamp tool in photoshop to remove the runner/pidgeons?
THe one's of the heron don't really do anything for me due to the concrete/metal background

I know what you mean, theres several spots round the town they like to hunt eels, this is one of the less picturesque I must admit with the less than imprressive backdrop. Theres not much that can be done in PS either with it.

I don't think the B&W conversion does anything for it either
