I'm up in Donegal this weekend and finally got to see the hidden BBC Widescreen testcard (Testcard "W", naturally). As this is suitably geeky enough for this forum here's what you do on any Freeview box fast enough to drive text properly. Thanks to various techie forums for this information.

    Go to BBCi, channel 105.
Wait until the screen has fully displayed, then press Yellow within 30 seconds.
    Go to any other channel.
    Go back to 105.
Wait until the screen has fully displayed, then press Green within 30 seconds.

The screen will display the word "SECRET" in the top right hand corner, and will then display an information screen about the signal and its source.

Press the following keys in order: 3 3 8 5 2 Red Green Yellow Blue

Within 30 seconds TCW in static form (ie the dots on the grey scale don't blink) will appear.

    Fantastic! :D

    Enjoy.
