At a bargain price too (I think):

    link

Could be a trap... and I don't even play bass. It's pretty rare though.

    Yay or nay?

edit: I have no affiliation whatsoever with the seller, and this is a genuine bargain alert/discussion/interest.

edit: he seems to be happy enough to mark it as a gift (customs) so I make it around 560-600 all in. Also I have no affiliation whatsoever with the seller, and this is a genuine bargain alert/discussion/interest.

I'd go for it, it looks damn nice!
Doesn't seem to be any s/n visable to confirm the year it was made though.

As for the customs fees, I'll make no comment on that. You should know the rules round here. :pac:

I dunno, what's with the pickguard not fitting around the neck pickup properly?

I'd ask him a lot of questions and see how honestly he replies - ie any damage? how much fret wear? does it need a refret? Knobs/pickups/jack working ok? Any repairs done?

AFAIK ESP didn't start making full instruments until the mid 80's. They make a superb Jazz bass, that's for sure, but I'd take the seller's history of it with a pinch of salt. Provided it's structurally intact and nothing is broken I'd say it's worth the money, but with that level of damage it's borderline.
